Access to Degrees

What are the requirements for access to the ULPGC for students from foreign educational systems?

1.- Students in possession of the European Baccalaureate title, International Baccalaureate Diploma and students from educational systems of Member States of the European Union or with which Spain has signed international agreements, when they meet the requirements established in their educational system to access the universities:

The admission criterion will be the grade contained in the UNED credential (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia) which will be used by the ULPGC to establish their access grade (grade up to 10,000 points), to which will be added, where appropriate, the grades of weightable subjects established for the 2024-2025 academic year. These students will be able to take the EBAU (Evaluation of the Bachelor's degree for access to the University) at the ULPGC or the PCE specific skills tests carried out by the UNED.

Once the student  has obtained an admission mark through these procedures, he/she will have to make an application for the 2024-2025 academic year in the ordinary period, from June 11 to July 1, 2024 and submit the required documentation.

2.- Students in possession of titles, diplomas or studies recognised or declared equivalent to the titles of Higher Technician of Vocational Training, Plastic Arts and Design, Higher Sports of the Spanish education system, of education systems of Member States of the European Union or of countries with a reciprocity agreement in this field:

The admission criterion will be the grade that appears in the resolution of recognition or equivalence, as appropriate. Those who wish to improve their admission grade may take the EBAU (Evaluation of the Bachelor's degree for access to the University) at the ULPGC or the PCE specific competences tests carried out by the UNED (Universidad Nacional de Educación a Distancia).

Once the student  has obtained an admission mark through these procedures, he/she will have to make an application for the 2024-2025 academic year in the ordinary period, from June 11 to July 1, 2024 and submit the required documentation.

3.- Other students from foreign educational systems:

You will have to validate your foreign qualification as a Baccalaureate or Higher Level Training Cycle qualification, according to the Spanish education system. Then you will have to obtain the UNED Credential, after which you can take the specific PCE competency tests carried out by the UNED if you want to raise your admission grade.

If you wish to improve your grade in subsequent calls, you may take this test at the ULPGC provided that the students included in section 1.- have previously obtained the accreditation issued by the UNED (UNED credential); or the students included in section 2.- have passed the PCE specific skills tests of the UNED, of the subjects corresponding to the General Phase of the EBAU.

Once the student  has obtained an admission mark through these procedures, he/she will have to make an application for the 2024-2025 academic year in the ordinary period, from June 11 to July 1, 2024 and submit the required documentation.

Access to Master's Degree

What are the requirements for access to a Master that is not enabling for the exercise a regulated profession?

In order to access the official university Master's degree courses not enabling for the exercise a regulated profession at the ULPGC, it is necessary to hold one of the following degrees:

  • Spanish university degree.
  • Degree issued by a Higher Education Institution of the European Higher Education Area that entitles the student to access the Master's Degree in the country issuing the degree.
  • Higher education degree issued by an institution outside the European Higher Education Area, which entitles in the country of issue for access to the Master's degree, validated or declared equivalent to the Spanish degree that qualifies for such access. However, the ULPGC may admit these students, without the need for validation of their degrees, after verifying that they accredit a level of training equivalent to the corresponding official Spanish university degrees and that they are authorized in the issuer country for access to postgraduate studies. Access by this route will not imply, in any case, the validation of the previous degree, nor its recognition for purposes other than that of pursuing Master's studies.

Once the student has obtained an admission mark through these procedures, he/she will have to make an application for the 2024-2025 academic year in the ordinary period, pending official publication and submit the required documentation.

To access certain official University Master's courses, accreditation of the level of knowledge of a foreign language by the ULPGC is a requirement. You can access information on the different procedures to obtain said accreditation at the ULPGC, by taking a test, for recognition or a university degree.

Applicants from countries where the official language is not Spanish must have level B1 or B2 of knowledge of the Spanish language (according to the requirements established in the degrees), which will also have to be accredited at the ULPGC, with the exception of Masters taught in another language.

For any incident you can contact the Postgraduate and Doctorate Unit, at Calle Juan de Quesada 30, 35001 Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.
